Thanksgiving is just days away, which means it’s time to start thinking about Christmas cards. Last year I decided to get creative and made out cards. This year I just can’t seem to find the time. I’ve learned that having Anna Kate takes up a LOT of time, probably because I’d rather play with her than do anything else. That being said, I’ve been looking all over the place, online and in stores, to find the right card for this year. I really want something special for this year, because it has been such a special year. And I really want a photo card, because we have one very lovely lady we’d like to show off!

I found out from another blogger that Shutterfly is giving away 50 free cards for blogging about their cards. I love their Christmas photo cards. There are so many that we really like, such as Pop Art Ornaments, Very Merry, and Snowing Joy. As for the one that I think we might go with, well, you’ll just have to see!

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! If anyone is getting out and doing some shopping on Black Friday, hope you have fun and good luck finding what you want. I’ll think about you while I’m still snuggled in my warm bed at 5 in the morning!

Anna Kate is growing so fast! I must admit that while I'm loving this new stage, I wish she had stayed a baby longer. She still loves cuddling with me, but not nearly as much as she used to. She wants to get down and play and get into things. And to think, only 4 months left til her first birthday! That just can't be, it's going by much too fast.
It came from an email devotion she receives from Crosswalk.com. Some great "Mom" advice from one mom to another.

Friendly Not Feisty

Karen Ehman

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling." I Peter 4:8-9 (NIV)
Devotion:

"Okay ladies," the guest speaker urged as she wrapped up her talk to my moms group that night, "Now go home and be friendly in your homes."

Ouch! Had she been in my home just a few hours earlier? "Friendly" was far from the way I had acted toward my brood. Unkind? Yes. Snippy? Certainly. Even caustic and cutting? Well, if I were honest, I'd have to declare a resounding yes.

Just what made this Jesus-professing mama behave in such an un-Christ-like manner earlier that evening? Had someone acted rudely toward me? Did my kids disrespect me or my husband utter something hurtful? Just what pushed my interior emotional buttons and sent me verbally over the edge?

Soiled socks. Smeared strawberry jam. Trailing bread crumbs. Dirty silverware and plates. And notebooks.

Oh, it wasn't just the presence of these items that sent ugly words soaring out of my mouth. It was the fact that, just moments earlier, I had spent vast time and great effort getting our great room spic-and-span clean. That meant a living area devoid of clutter, kitchen counters and tables wiped, all floors vacuumed and surfaces dusted. I wanted the house tidied up so my husband and kids could just relax while I was gone.

Then, in the short time it took to change from my daytime outfit of jeans and a t-shirt into something more suited for a night with the girls, spruce up my hair, add a dab of make-up and grab my purse, my kiddos had, in my eyes, completely undone all my hard work! They'd whipped off their socks, made a snack of toasted homemade bread slathered with strawberry jam and strewn their weekly scripture memory books from a program at church all over the place. It made my mama blood boil and resulted in feisty, not friendly words.

I was working on a book on hospitality at the time and had been unpacking today's key verse for my readers. I wanted to drive home the fact that hospitality—using our homes and lives as avenues of God's care for others—and love—the sacrificial placing of another human being above yourself—are closely connected. And, the most important element, we must both love and offer hospitality to others without grumbling. You know, be friendly!
Now, for the most part, aren't we able to do that when we have guests in our home? We smile and serve and really don't get upset at crumbs and such. We happily wipe them up. Why is this so? And on a grander scale, why do we find it much easier to be friendly to complete strangers than to our own flesh and blood? Do our tempers stay in check with the grocery store cashier or even the dentist (whom I hate to see twice each year, for crying out loud!)?
Why is it so easy to snap at our kids, give our husbands the cold shoulder, or roll our eyes at a dear family member, but remain gracious with those we meet in public, even when they do something that really grinds us?
I fear that many of us live out just such a contradiction in our daily lives. And just what lasting pictures are our cherished children depositing into their memory banks? "Mom held it together when the dry cleaners completely ruined her favorite sweater, but she yelled at me for accidentally spilling grape juice on the floor." Oh, sisters, this should not be!

Perhaps it is time to offer some friendly hospitality to the members of our own home; to keep our tempers in check and our grumbling at bay; to let perfect love wash over a multitude of sins. Not the jelly-smeared, crumb-laden kind, but the hideous-word-hurling, mama-mouthed variety.
Oh may we Jesus-lovin' women choose to hesitate before we hurl. Rather than feisty, may we be friendly instead.

Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I take out my temper on my family. I want instead to act like You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

How many times have we been guilty of this? I know I have. This week will definitely be a test for me. The cleaning lady came today and the house looks GREAT! And we're having a big fish fry at our house Saturday night. My goal this week - no matter how bad the house may get between now and then, not to get upset or fuss about it.
These past few months her personality has really come out! We have learned that we have an independent child, just like the both of us! She thinks she's a grown up already. She likes holding her own bottle, thinks she can feed herself, and wants to be in the middle of everything! And she thinks it's SOO funny when she sticks her tongue out and blows raspberries! Her favorite toys so far is her lion (Leroy), her "rings", phones, and the remote control! She LOVES seeing it light up! And we don't go anywhere without her paci and Ginger (her giraffe blanket). She gets so excited when she sees Ginger, and she loves sucking on her antlers and ears. I picked it up by the antler one day and slobber just oozed out! I need to get a video of her reaction when she sees Ginger. She starts laughing, kicks her legs, and reaches out to grab her. The she presses Ginger into her open mouth for what I guess are kisses (more like open mouth licks)!
She gets a little juice after her meal in a bottle. She'll take the bottle, drink a little, then put it down and laugh! She gets so excited about it! And our newest accomplishment - we are sitting up! Not for huge periods of time, but we're getting better everyday!
Jake taped the game so we wouldn't miss it while we ate supper. Afterwards, Jake cleaned up while Anna Kate got geared up for the game! Jake gave her a big pep talk about her college future. It seems Daddy's alma mater will be Anna Kate's future alma mater. No matter that she's only 5 months old. (By the way, she'll be 6 months this upcoming Tuesday- so exciting!!) Here are a few pictures of Daddy and Daughter.

No matter how loud or hard we cheered, we couldn't cheer our Bulldogs to victory. We even made up some cheers, but it still didn't work. I think Anna Kate may have a future as a cheerleader! She loved it when we'd bounce her up and down and wave her hands! I was so impressed though. She stayed awake through the whole game and was a great sport. We're talking about taking her to a real game sometime when it cools off some.

We FINALLY got a new computer around here!! Compared to the other two computers we have been trying to use, we have really come up in the world. No more slow computers!
We went to Best Buy on Labor Day and got all set up. Of course this is all for Jake's new yard/spraying side business he has gotten into, but he has given me permission to use the business computer to do my blog. Thanks so much sweetheart! (Like it was even a question. :) haha).

So expect more updates! And more pictures! I promise!

Now to just get used to this new one.... Guess that means lots of computer time for me! Sorry Jake. :)
I can’t believe she is already 4 months old. She is growing up so fast and is definitely not a newborn anymore. We have been learning lots of new things lately.

We had been giving Anna Kate a little cereal at night in her bottle. But this week we started doing something new – giving it to her with a spoon. She is doing so great sitting up and she’s getting older, we thought it’d be a great time to start.

It is so much fun watching her learn to eat! Guess it’s just a good thing we’re not those type of parents who think Anna Kate should always be clean. Around here, between spit-up, gallons of drool, and now the cereal, I think the only time she’s 100% clean is the first few minutes after her bath!

We went to Baton Rouge for Jake's grandparents to meet Anna Kate. They had not had a chance to meet Anna Kate yet, and we thought this would be a great time.

We had such a good time. We stayed with Eddie & Marilyn and got to see John and visit with him. He will be a sophomore at West Point this year and was home for a couple weeks before going back. Anna Kate was very spoiled by all the attention from her great grandparents, her Aunt Marilyn, and her cousins.

We had such a wonderful time and can't wait to come back and visit again!
Sorry it's been so long since we last wrote. It has been so busy around here that we haven't had much time to even rest! So I'm going to try and bring everyone up to date over the next few days.

This Mother's Day was so special for us because it was the first year I was a Mommy! The weekend of Mother's Day we spent in Natchez because Jake had a work function. AK did so good on the drive and everyone at the meeting LOVED her! I have never seen so many grown men fawn over her. I think she had several of them wrapped around her fingers. There was an auction at the meeting and look what Anna Kate won.

She also won a MSU outfit for a door prize but I don't have a picture of it. It is going to go perfect with her other MSU stuff as she helps her Daddy cheer on his Bulldogs!

Then on Mother's Day, AK got to meet her great Gramma (my mother's mother) and several of her great aunts. Her Jam, Gran, and Aunt Rachel met us there. Here are some pics from the day.
Life has been pretty busy lately. Anna Kate is growing like a weed and is such a joy in our lives! We can't imagine what life was like without her, except I think there was a little more sleep and downtime! :)

Anna Kate went for her 2 month check-up today. She had to get 3 shots and I was worried, about how both of us would do. But we both did great. Anna Kate was a champ, she only cried a little bit. I didn't get upset, but it did break my heart hearing my baby girl hurting. It was definitely a cry I hadn't heard before. She's doing okay this afternoon. Is nappying a good bit and is kinda cranky, but it just gives Mommy a great reason to snuggle and cuddle with her little girl.

Thursday we had a little photo shoot so I could finally finish our birth announcement (late I know, but they're going in the mail this week)! I got some really great shots, but I think that's because of the subject matter more so than the photographer. Here are a few shots from the day.
We are now a family of 3 and Anna Kate will be 3 weeks old this Easter Sunday. I can't believe it's already been 3 weeks, but it also seems like she's been with us for so long! I can't imagine life without her. We are having so much fun with her, and although I want to keep her this little forever, I am also very excited about watching her grow. She is such a good baby, and except for a few episodes, has been so great!

I'll write more later on, and fill you in on the past month or so. We had 2 showers, lots of room decorating, a great delivery, and lots of love and visitors since. Plus a birthday party to celebrate Anna Kate's first week! For now, I"ll leave you with a few pictures.
Sorry, we've been a little busy around here. Maybe one day I'll do a catch-up post, but for now, I wanted to share what my wonderful husband did to surprise me!

He had been working painting the nursery and we had agreed that I wouldn't go in until it was finished. (Mostly so it would be a surprise, but also because of the smell.) Well, he had worked all week last week trying to finish and as of Thursday night he said he lacked just a little bit more and was hoping to finish Friday. Friday was his day off but he told me he had some work he needed to do so he was going to go in for a little while.

Well, Friday, I came home from work to find this....

I was very pleasantly surprised! While I thought he was "working" he had gone to Memphis to pick up our furniture we ordered (I didn't even know it was in) and had put everything together. It was a wonderful surprise! Now we just have to paint a bookcase to put in there, and we'll be all set. I am hoping to get her room decorated this weekend.

Beware, this is a long one!

First off, the outside. I LOVE how the outside of our house looks. It's so pretty. Jake says it's the prettiest house on our road. We're not biased at all! :)

And I think my FAVORITE part of the whole house (inside and out) is our front door. This is a picture of when we had JUST put everything up. I need to get an updated picture. I now have a poinsetta in each of my earns by the front door. Oh, and "Bully" has a bow! If you'll look just left of the left column, you'll see him in all his glory (minus bow). We had to spotlight him after State's glorious victory at the Egg Bowl!

Here is a close-up of the "gift" on the front door. I could have sworn I saw this online somewhere, but for the life of me can't find it anymore! So if you've seen it, please let me know so I can give them credit. If not, well, I guess I can be pretty creative, huh? I really like it and hope to use it for years to come.

So next stop I guess is the Dining Room/Office. This is our first year for a live tree, and I think we did pretty good for our first year. There is definitely a learning curve though, and I'm already looking forward to next year. I really wanted one with the lights showing, but it turned out so blurry. I wasn't going to post it, but decided to anyways. I love it, and I love walking in the house every day and smelling it.

I also decorated the desk in the Dining Room. A few years ago Jake's mom gave me a Nutcracker for Christmas. And this year, with it being my first year to actually have room, I've put him out and enjoyed him, and decided he needs some friends. I'm thinking they might need a few more next year as well.

Oh and there's one more tree! It's a small one in the living room. We have used this little artificial tree since we were first married. One thing that has been tradition in my family for years, we always get a few ornaments every Christmas. This year, I decided to make Jake his own special tree for the Living Room because he said he wanted to be able to sit on the couch and look at our Christmas Tree. Mom really helped me out on this and gave him his ornaments for this year a little early. It is very cute (sorry Jake, I know you don't want your tree to be "cute") and I'm thinking of leaving it out for a while.

I think my second favorite area is the mantel and fireplace in the living room. We've had the mirror up there since we moved, and I knew I wanted to leave it up there, I just wasn't sure how to decorate around. Mom came to the rescue again. I hope she is rubbing some of this creativeness off on me! It turned out great!

Here is the close-up of the Santa. He is made out of a cypress knee. You see a lot of them in the lakes and bayous around the Delta. After my Grandfather ("Choctaw") died and my Grandmother was moving from their home, my Mom & Dad found a bunch of them that they had. Every year since then, someone in my family (Mom, Grandmama, and me) has gotten one painted as Santa. One of the ladies that works with my Dad does them and she does a WONDERFUL job! I would love to have tons more. It is so neat and unique, and everytime I look at it I'm reminded of our Choctaw. He would have loved them!
Jake started this for me the first year we were married, and he adds to it every year. I love it because the figurines are some type of plastic. Meaning little ones can play with them all they like and we don't have to worry with them breaking! So glad I thought ahead.
The house has been decorated and I'll post pictures soon, I promise! But first.....

Jake left for the deer camp yesterday afternoon, so last night I called up a friend from church and asked her to go eat supper with me. We had nothing in the house and I didn't feel like eating by myself. It turned out to be three of us for dinner- Jennifer, Katie, and myself. We had so much fun!

I had forgotten how fun it is to go out with just the girls. I don't think I've done that since college. We had so much fun sharing stories and catching up with each other. Katie is also expecting, they are due in January. We were trying to talk Jennifer into joining everyone else (there are currently about 6 girls in our church pregnant) but she is content with being an aunt first! Well, we tried! :)

So we need to plan something else, and we need to get the other girls our age to come. Only problem is, babies will be coming from January through April. Maybe after then we could do something. I'm thinking let the guys babysit and the girls could have a night out again? Sounds good to me! Any other takers???The Easleyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14706034097460483094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2779117852654396426.post-75696314662840263022009-11-20T10:02:00.001-06:002009-11-20T10:04:37.437-06:00Busy Busy BusyWe have been busy this past week (and last), and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down anytime soon! Let's see if I can catch you up and let you know what's coming up.

Thursday (12th) we had our 22 week Dr. appointment. Anna Kate is doing great and growing like a weed. Her heart beat was around upper 140's. She's grown so much since 18 weeks and looks like she might get her height from her Daddy! Although, as my sister pointed out, I'm not sure how I will feel having to look up to my "little girl" one day.

Friday (13th) and Saturday my Dad was in town. We saw Ole Miss win in basketball and football! And ate some great meals at places Dad used to frequent when he was in school here. Was a great weekend for us and for Ole Miss!

Tuesday (17th) we had our friends the Byars over for dinner. They have the cutest little girl, Taylor, who is 4 months old now. Brian and Jake went to school together and Brian was a groomsmen in our wedding. Liz is becoming my "go to" person on all things baby! Before we go register I really want to sit down with her and find out what we really need! We had a great visit with them, and are so glad that they live we all live in the same town.

This Friday (20th) my whole family is coming into town for the weekend. Mom is coming to help me decorate for Christmas (I know it's early, see previous post for the reason). Dad and Rachel are going to see Ole Miss vs. LSU (hopefully another exciting game for them). I can't wait to have my house all decorated for the holidays, even though I will be a little early!

Thanksgiving is next week and we will be traveling to Baton Rouge to spend the holiday with Jake's family. Our Homebuilders (group at church) Christmas party (at our house) is on Dec. 12th; Christmas with my family on the 19th; Christmas Eve with Jake's family; and Christmas Day with my mom's side of family in Brookhaven.

Then we will be ringing in the New Year. Is it bad of me to hope that we will ring the new year in with a quiet night in our house, just the 2 of us, and maybe asleep by 10? Anna Kate will need to rest because Jan. and Feb will be BIG months for us all - time to get ready for her arrival in March!!! The Easleyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14706034097460483094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2779117852654396426.post-18525835120104023912009-11-10T13:23:00.001-06:002009-11-10T13:24:44.783-06:00It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

I can't believe it's almost that time of year! Just a few days ago, a friend asked if everyone had finished their Christmas shopping. My response: Haven't even STARTED! Nor had I even thought about it! And then I realized that there's only about a month a half left. So I've started my shopping. Have one family member completely done, one person halfway done, and lots more people to think about! :)

My mom is coming next weekend, and we will be decorating the house. Yes, my house will be decorated for Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving! In my house growing up, we always went and got our Christmas Tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and we started decorating a little then and just did a little each day. Since Jake and I have been married, we have done very little decorating, so I waited until December. This year will be different for a few reasons. Jake and I are having a Christmas party the first Saturday of December, so I knew I wanted it decorated for that. And we will be gone the weekend of Thanksgiving, spending that holiday with Jake's family. And I like to get decorations up fairly early so we can enjoy them. So next weekend made the most sense. And I'm so glad my mom is coming to help! Although she will probably never admit it, she has great decorating ideas! She always has touches of Christmas in every room of the house, and I am hoping to at least attempt to copy some of her great ideas!

I went <strike>home</strike> to Mom & Dad's last weekend for Cleveland's Holiday Open House. We had a great time. Two of Mom's sister's were also in town and we hit Paul Michael's on Saturday before the Open House Sat. night and Sunday. For anyone who has never gone to a Paul Michaels (there's one is Arkansas, Louisiana, and 2 in Texas) you HAVE to go! I LOVE that place. It is like a huge warehouse filled with home decor. And for Christmas, they do it up BIG!! Jake worries every time I go, he's afraid I'll wipe out our checking account and max out the credit cards. And I could! So between Paul Michaels's and the Open House, I've got all my ideas of what I want to do, and pretty much everything I need to do it with, if only next week would come! The Easleyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14706034097460483094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2779117852654396426.post-44253029806806310482009-11-06T11:45:00.000-06:002009-11-06T11:45:35.013-06:00Thankful Thursdays - FamilyI know, I skipped last week. Sorry! So to make up for it, this will probably end up being a longer post. But only because we have SO MUCH to be thankful for.

Jake and I are very lucky people, we come from great families! We both have a set of parents who still live together and love each other (which is becoming fewer and fewer these days) and a younger sister each, and one brother in law. We also both have big extended families and are pretty close with our families as well. We live fairly close to both families (within 2 hours drive) and get to see them a lot!

We are so lucky to have such a great family. Our parents and siblings all live fairly close by (all are within a 2 hour drive, some not quite so far) and we see each other fairly often. One thing I love is having our family together. It's so great to sit down at a table to share a meal, and look around at all our family. Not only that but we have several "honorary" family members (Ms. Beverly) who just happen to live close by. It is so nice to have an extra "mom" close by if I were to ever need one! :) I mentioned earlier our big extended families. Between the 2 of us, we have 25 aunts and uncles, and about 42 first cousins (and spouses). I HOPE I didn't leave anyone out, but it's hard ot keep track of that many! We are all pretty spread out and don't get to see each other too often, so we love the holidays when we can get together and catch up.. There is always a big group at any family function! It is so nice to have this big family unit, so many people that we know love us and are there for us.

And the other part of our family that I can't forget, is Daisy. She has really been a blessing to us. When we were looking for homes around Oxford, Jake had 2 dogs that lived with his parents (we couldn't have fit 2 grown labs in our apartment). We (especially Jake) were extremely excited to have our dogs with us again. But before we closed on our house, both dogs died. It was very hard on us, we lost 2 family members. Duke, the older dog, was like a brother to Jake. After a few months or so, we decided we were ready to start looking for another dog. And then came Daisy. She was ADORABLE and I fell in love with her the first time I saw a picture of her. (I also fell in love with at least 1 of her brothers and sisters, but Jake said we should do this puppy thing "1 at a time.") I can still remember the day we got her, and I love looking back at pictures of her. Watching her grow up has been so fun for Jake and me, and we love seeing her personality develop. She is our first child and is spoiled rotten. And I'm sure, even though there will be some adjusting, she will remain spoiled rotten! She's just too cute to resist!

And the last piece to our family, our little "Butterbean" Anna Kate who will arrive this March. I am so thankful that she has this wonderful family that she will become apart of. All the aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents who are just going to love her. We're so ready for her to arrive. These past 21 weeks have flown by. And although I wish they'd slow down just a little (Mommy is a planner and she's not getting all her projects done fast enough), I'm glad they're not dragging by! We are so excited about Anna Kate's arrival! Anna Kate, we don't want to rush you too much, but as soon as you're ready to arrive, we're so ready to have you! :)The Easleyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14706034097460483094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2779117852654396426.post-34950949238015804522009-10-27T20:57:00.000-05:002009-10-27T20:57:40.384-05:00Baby BeddingWe have searched high and low, in stores and online. And we couldn't find any bedding for Anna Kate that we really loved. We knew we wanted something with lots of colors (pastels) and something that was not too baby-ish. And we didn't want to spend a fortune on it either. (There are other things we'd rather buy for her.) So I finally found something the other day! I think it's perfect for her and Jake seems to really like it too. Here is a picture but go here and you can see everything that goes with it. We haven't decided for sure if are going to get it, we still have a couple of places we want to go look first.
Here are pictures of everything she has so far. Her first gift came from Uncle Richard and Aunt Jane. It's so cute and soft, even I want to snuggle up with it!

And Mommy and Daddy have bought her several gifts lately. Her first gift was a cute little frog oneside. Hopefully she'll be like her Daddy and look good in yellow. Here is what the design on front looks like

And then to go along with the frog theme, a very soft colorful frog with a rattle in its tummy.

And this weekend, we found the BEST baby store in Memphis! We bought this bib and I'm so ready to go back and buy lots more cute stuff.

And even Mommy got to get a gift, although it's kind of for Anna Kate too! I am in LOVE with this! And the ladies at the store said this usually becomes her first piece of Vera Bradley.

Is she a spoiled little girl or what? But we wouldn't have it any other way! Her Daddy and I love her so much already, and she's not even here yet! Sometimes we think we're going to bust that we're so excited and in love with Anna Kate!
I promise, I wish I could make this stuff up, but unfortunately I can't. My office is right down the street from the Square (for those who don't know, the Square is the life of Oxford) on a pretty busy corner. On Friday's before a home game, it does get a little crazy. And you can usually hear people honking, and even a few "Hoddy Toddy" cheers. But today, well, it was just ridiculous. And all I can think of is, I'm glad I'm not a Razorback fan.

So, I was leaving work and drove right across the street to get gas. I noticed as leaving the parking lot there were 2 men outside. I didn't pay them much attention, figured they were waiting to cross the street. Well, they weren't. They stood on the street corner yelling things. A man was walking to the hotel across from my office and happened to be wearing an Ole Miss hat. And the men start yelling at him. Things like "Go Hogs! We've got your number! You're going down" Just stupid stuff like that. And soon after, 2 more men joined them. And all I could think of was "How old are we???" These were GROWN men, plenty old enough to know better.

Amazing what you get when you mix Rednecks (because they just had to be, no matter where they came from) and football, and probably a little alcohol!! So I'm going to try and make Thursdays a day where we can reflect on all that we're thankful for, because so many days we seem to busy to sit down and count our blessings

One things that has really been on my mind lately is how everything has just fallen into place since moving to Oxford (well, Abbeville) last February.

I can remember the day we found out where Jake would be working. It was the day before Christmas Eve, and I can honestly say, it kinda ruined our Christmas fun. It was NOT where we had wanted to go and had planned to go. We were soready for them to say go.... only they said go somewhere else. It was a huge blow to us and a big set back. We had all these plans in place, but it didn't matter. We were so dissapointed and upset that things did not work out like they wanted. But now we can look back and so easily say that this may not have been what WE sought out, but God knew what was best for us and what we needed. He has so richly blessed us.

We moved just outside of Oxford to a little community, Abbeville. It's perfect for us. Not in town, but not in the boonies. We bought the most perfect house for us (we walked in and just knew that this was it) and love being homeowners. I had no problem finding a job. And the two greatest things, we found an awesome church family, and we're having a baby! We were so ready to find a good church home. The church in Vicksburg was all older couples and we never felt like we fit. Now, we have a large, loving church family and feel a part of something. And probably the best blessing ever, our little Anna Kate that will be here in March. Jake and I had been wanting to start a family for almost a year. I am so glad we weren't during that stressful time (between Jake getting his job and us moving) but we were so ready to start a family and it just wasn't happening. And now, it has and our precious little girl will be before we know it!

God has shown us that we need to be here, that this is the place and situation we need to be in. We really learned what it meant to "let go and let God". And we can't be more thankful! The Easleyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14706034097460483094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2779117852654396426.post-63141099754022077072009-10-22T21:00:00.000-05:002009-10-22T21:00:51.439-05:00TLC is Bad Luck!Just a little musing here.... Jake likes watching OCC on TLC. We have watched it for several years now. I am not a huge fan of the show, too much fighting and ugly words for me. Anyways, tonight we were watching the season premier. OCC is another TLC show that now has family torn apart. First John & Kate and now OCC. I told Jake that TLC was just bad luck for families. They say things come in 3's, so who knows what's next!
And the funny thing is, out little girl is not even here yet and is already being spoiled! We cannot wait for little Anna Kate to get here, but she needs to take her time and be ready herself. For now we'll just be busy getting her room ready for her arrival. I have been looking online and seen a LOT that I like, hopefully Jake can't narrow things down for us. I'm hoping to make a trip to Memphis or Tupelo this weekend and doing a little looking/shopping. Hopefully it will be a good trip and we'll find lots of stuff we like.
